Our young are our future. One of the Lions Clubs International objects is "To promote the principles of good citizenship" and to this end we actively encourage young people through our Lions Youth Award and Lions International Peace Poster competitions.

We help schools educate against drug abuse through Lions involvement with TACADE (Teachers Advisory Council on Alcohol & Drug Education), promoting and financing teaching aids in both junior and secondary schools.

Our Youth Camps and our Youth Exchange schemes bring together young people from many countries, bringing understanding of different cultures and backgrounds.

In the local secondary schools Mexborough Lions have a new project, providing £150 bursaries to deserving young people going on to further education.

We help many youngsters with the expenses they need to represent this area and this country in sporting competitions and in their educational and personal development.

And many local community groups involved with young people - the Scouting movement, Youth Clubs, Youth Football teams - have been helped with money and equipment.
